This past week I had the chance to travel down to Austin, TX to visit the city and attend the well known SXSW Music, Film &amp; Interactive Festival. It was my first trip to the festival and it was an awesome week! Here are the top 10 things I saw/heard at SXSW 2011: 10.<a target="_new" href="http://www.allensboots.com/"> Allen&rsquo;s Boots&nbsp; Right in the middle of South Congress Street in the shopping district my friend and I found Allen&rsquo;s Boot&rsquo;s. This great store has the best collection of cowboy boots I have ever seen! Unfortunately, I didn&rsquo;t have enough room in my bag to bring home a new pair of boots but I was able to find a great new cowboy hat! 9. Mr. Heavenly The best thing about SXSW is that you can see many unexpected things! One of those unexpected things was seeing Michael Cera playing bass in the band Mr. Heavenly at Austin Bat Bar. Who knew? 10. Allen’s Boots

This month I had the honor of playing a songwriter's round hosted by Alina Smith. It was an amazing night of music and a great group of artists! The night featured Andrea Marchant, Shannon Haley, myself and our lovely host Alina.&nbsp; Throughout the evening we all took turns singing songs and telling stories. I have to say it was one of my favorite shows I've played here in Los Angeles. The girls were amazing and incredibly sweet. We all had so much fun! It's been a while since I've written so I just wanted to check in to tell you about the show we have coming up and a new song I wanted to post for you! The band and I will be playing this coming Monday at The Mint! I'm very excited about our gig at this well known Los Angeles venue because it will be our first full band show since June. A lot of you have seen us play more acoustic shows over the summer and I'm thrilled to be jamming with the Boys and Sarah again. I'm very fortunate to play with such a wonderful group of people and it's gonna be a lot of fun on Monday!&nbsp;Keep checking in for more dates to be posted as they are confirmed! :) Also, I wanted to share this video of Miles and I playing a new song I wrote over at Room 5 in Hollywood. I'm not usually this open about the songs I write. I like to leave it up to interpretation most of the time. But I'm glad to share it because I've gotten a lot of positive response from fans at the shows I've played it at and it has become my song to a lot of you good guys out there! I wrote it this past spring when I was going through a lot of changes. I needed one last song to finish out my recording sessions with Steve Farr back in New Hampshire and while I was home for that week I kept fiddling around on my guitar with this melody and chords but couldn't make up my mind on lyrics for what I wanted the song to be about. At the time I had come out of a relationship that past year which proved to be a big learning experience for me and the focus of a lot of songs I was writing at that time. But I didn't exactly want to write about my heartache again. While I was in New England I had the pleasure of playing with <a target="_new" href="http://sonyaraeperricone.com/">Sonya Rae Perricone.&nbsp;One night we went up to Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry, NH to play a couple of my songs at the Open Mic there. It was the first time I had been over to Tupelo and it was a great night of music, all of the artists were awesome. I really enjoyed hearing everyone's songs and performances. At the end of the night they invited a few of us to go up to do one more song and Sonya and I played last. We decided to do a cover called 'Little by Little' and invited some of the other performers to come up and jam with us; which included <a target="_new" href="http://www.myspace.com/jacobjohnson">Jacob Johnson who was the featured artist that night. My day at the track was an amazing experience. I had the privilege of singing before the Nationwide Series Race, which was also Danica Patrick&rsquo;s 4th NASCAR race. I have been to races in the past but never this close to the action! Before the race we toured the track and it was really interesting to see how much work goes into getting the cars and drivers prepared for a race. I also had a chance to meet my favorite driver Kasey Kahne! After that I made my way over to the media room for a few interviews. I had so much fun chatting with the team from <a target="_new" href="http://www.morningbuzzonline.com">Greg and the Morning Buzz . Here's a picture of me with Andy Blacksmith after the interview. Nice ride! It was really cool to be back in my home state of New Hampshire for this nationally televised performance (ESPN) and I really appreciate all of my friends, family and fans that came out to cheer me on.
